Detention Center
The detention center is operated and managed by the sheriff's office. The Sheriff has high standards and employs skilled and professional detention officers to assist him in the managing of the detention center. Inmates in the detention center have the privilege of purchasing items from the commissary, as well as buying time for phone calls, video calls, and text messaging. Inmates can utilize the kiosk system from inside their cells/pods to purchase from the commissary or make calls to inmates.
The Detention Center Administrator is Lieutenant Debbie Richardson who is a lifelong resident of Stephens County, growing up in Loco and attending Velma-Alma Public Schools graduating in 1988. She attended Cameron University graduating in 1993 with a Bachelors Degree. Debbie previously served Stephens County as a Detention Officer and Assistant Jail Administrator with the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office, Probation & Parole Officer with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections and Chief of Police with the Velma Police Department.
